Purchasing Assistant

Job Summary: This is a multi-tasking position. There will be involvement in inventory purchasing and supplies acquisition. This person will serve as a back-up in Logistics. This person will get involved in various special projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Process inventory purchase orders, based on guidance from Material Manager
  • Monitor the delivery status of orders
  • Communicate vital information (pricing, lead times, etc) with interested co-workers
  • Monitor levels of various supplies and re-order as necessary
  • Arrange for freight carriers to pick up and deliver customer orders
  • Work on various special projects as required
  • Positively and respectfully communicate with all vendors
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of administrative experience
  • Prior experience with ERP software a plus
  • At least intermediate level Excel knowledge
